GENERAL POST OFFICE, LONDON.
//March 1902.
Gov
4957
sir,
I am directed by the Postmaster General to acknowledge
the receipt of your letter of the 5th instant enclosing a
copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong respecting
the equivalent in Hong Kong currency of fifty centimes, the
unit forming the basis of the postage collected on parcels
sent from the Colony to France or to this country via France.
The Postmaster General understands that the Governor has
agreed to the proposal that the equivalent be fixed at 20
cents.
In this connexion I am to send to you thirty prints of
the Detailed Regulations for carrying out the Convention
concerning the exchange of parcels by post between France
and the Colonies of Ceylon, the Straits Settlements and Hong
Kong. The Secretary of State will doubtless cause some of
these to be forwarded to the Colonies concerned.
Ender Secretary of State,
COLONIAL OFFICE.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
